Guadalajara is proud of this first rate museum which opened its doors on February 14th of the year 2000. Here, the visitor can see how some animals that lived in western Mexico used to be.
The permanent exhibit consists of 7 sections that display mammals from the end of the Pleistocene era: antelopes, horses, canines, camels, pumas, saber-toothed tigers, mammoths and megatheres amongst many; as well as evidence left in bones by the first inhabitants such as scrapers and atlatl.
The visitor may also tour the temporary exhibitions’ area where different themes of the Natural sciences are displayed. The Paleontology Museum is open from Tuesday till Saturday from 10:00 am. To 18:00 pm, and from 11:00 am. Till 18:00 pm. on Sundays.

The Interactive Trompo Mágico Museum is unique in Latin America; it is a place dedicated to children. It is owned by the government of the State of Jalisco and opened its doors on the 30th of April in 2003 and was one of the pioneers in offering a 4th generation project; which means that is has contemplative, interactive and advanced technology areas but the most important is that each of its exhibitions has a pedagogic foundation.
